Family trip to the zoo!

I think this is the first time that we have gone to the zoo as just our little family. Cory decided to take Monday off and I needed to get out of the house, so off to the zoo we went. The weather was perfect and it was just nice to spend some time with my hubby and have help with the boys since one boy wants to go run and trip while the other wants to be held and a double stroller needs to be pushed! Why the stroller comes with us I do not know! (Oh to carry all the stuff we may need!)

One month old!

photo taken by jstphotography.com

Little Clay boy, you are already one month old. Where has the time gone? You are such a strong little guy just like your big brother was. You are holding your head up really strong. You open your eyes real wide and listen to the noise around you. You LOVE to be held most of the time and need to be next to someone at night to sleep. You love laying on daddy's chest at night and sleep really well that way. You have been waking up every three hours at night to eat. You grunt a lot of the night unless someone pats your little bottom to put you into a deep sleep. When you are awake you need to be patted or bounced or want whoever is holding you to be walking around! You don't love the swing or the chair but if I am lucky you will swing for a little bit before you start to cry. If I am really lucky you will fall asleep so mommy can get a few things done. Your big brother Wyatt gives you kisses all the time and LOVES you so much! You have brought so much love and joy into our lives little Clay. Happy One month.

One week ago.......

We didn't know what love would be brought into our lives.

It is just amazing the love and happiness that this little guy has brought into this family!
Wyatt LOVES being a big brother!
Since Clay has been born we have been doing a lot of this!
I have been shot at many many times so now we use the pee pee teepee!
This is where Clay wears it.
This is what Wyatt thought it was for!
A warm cozy towel after his first bath at home.
Daddy giving Clay his first bath at home!
Hanging out!
My sweet little angel one week has gone by and we are so thankful that you have been brought into our lives. You are such a wonderful and beautiful addition to our family. You had your first doctors appointment and you weighed 10lbs 5oz! The doctor was very impressed and said that bigger babies usually lose weight but since you had gained some she didn't need to see you until you were two months old! That's my boy! WE love you!

Happy Valentines Day!

What a beautiful beginning of a day! Walking into Wyatt's room with him and daddy laying in bed watching Tom and Jerry. :) Handing out Valentines in bed and seeing happy smiles. Getting Love from my little family. Hubby going to get decaf Starbucks and renting a carpet cleaner. :) Eating a bowl of cocoa puffs while Wyatt eats candy for breakfast. Getting lovely valentines from many loves. Watching Mass on T.V. with the people I LOVE. Baking cupcakes while hubby cleans our dirty carpets and Car. Running a few errands while Wyatt plays at Auntie's house. Making a big fat hamburger with BBQ sauce and fried onions while drinking a nice cold coke! Having two happy boys running around my house and then putting them down for a nap. Taking a little nap myself! Having perfect weather for opening doors! Did I mention a delicious Cherry Cheese cake my husband made for me????? YUMMY!

My little Cowboy in his new roping shirt! (I think he likes it nonnie and papa!)

I don't think the day could get any better than this! Well..... Unless another little boy decides to enter into the world! :)

Loving Two

I walk along holding your 2-year-old hand, basking in the glow of our magical relationship. Suddenly I feel a kick from within, as if to remind me that our time alone is limited. And I wonder: how could I ever love another child as I love you?

Then he is born, and I watch you. I watch the pain you feel at having to share me as you've never shared me before.

I hear you telling me in your own way, please love only me. And I hear myself telling you in mine, I can't, knowing, in fact, that I never can again.

You cry. I cry with you. I almost see our new baby as an intruder on the precious relationship we once shared. A relationship we can never quite have again.

But then, barely noticing, I find myself attached to that new being, and feeling almost guilty. I'm afraid to let you see me enjoying him as though I am betraying you.

But then I notice your resentment change, first to curiosity, then to protectiveness, finally to genuine affection.

More days pass, and we are settling into a new routine. The memory of days with just the two of us is fading fast.

But something else is replacing those wonderful times we shared, just we two. There are new times only now, we are three. I watch the love between you grow, the way you look at each other, touch each other.

I watch how he adores you as I have for so long. I see how excited you are by each of his new accomplishments. And I begin to realize that I haven't taken something away from you, I've given something to you. I notice that I am no longer afraid to share my love openly with both of you. I find that my love for each of you is as different as you are, but equally strong. And my question is finally answered, to my amazement. Yes, I can love another child as much as I love you only different.

And although I realize that you may have to share my time, I now know you'll never share my love. There is enough of that for both of you. You each have your own supply.

I love you both and I thank you for blessing my life.

(Thank you Mandy for sharing that poem with me.)

I have found myself soaking in every minute I have with Wyatt as the days of this little one are coming near. So many changes and so many questions that are unanswered until the time arrives. I find myself worrying about Wyatt and our relationship but excited for this new little soul in my life. How can I imagine having another little boy in my life and loving him as much as I love Wyatt! Wyatt is such a light in my life and everyday I watch him and love him more and more. Wyatt, I love the energy that you exude! I love how tough you are yet give the softest love. You are so rough sometimes but you give the sweetest hugs and kisses I have ever had. I love your little treasures that mean the world to you: your little marbles, dice, little rabbit, your bouncy balls, and everything else that fits into your little hands just right. I love how you light up every time you find one of these little treasures on the floor or in their hidden place. I love how much you love to rope cows and ride horses. You are one talented little boy. I love your love for any ball that you see. I love your contentment with what you have. I love how you love to tackle and chase and play swords yet your favorite cartoon is Dora and you get excited about Tinkerbell. I love that you are so strong sometimes yet when the Swiper comes on TV you come running for my arms. I love that you need me even if it just to ask if you are ok. I love that you like to play football with me and when I miss one of your throws, you tell me to keep an eye on it. I love that you want me to lay with you at night and get as close as we can. I love that you ask me to hold your hand at night and sometimes want to hold both right before you fall asleep. I love your sweet soft cheeks, your clumsy little ways, the way you can't control your excitement at times, and the happiness that always shines through you. I am so very blessed to have been able to spend these past two years being your mommy. You are going to be such a wonderful big brother and I am so excited to see you in that role. Just because there is a new little baby coming into our lives, doesn't mean you are any less important. You are and will always be my one and only Wyatt Bear. I love you.

Getting ready for this little bundle!

The wall between the babies room and Wyatt's room has finally been put up! I have been waiting and waiting for this time. With a vision of the babies room in my head, picture on paper, and paint color picked out, my mom and dad started the day ready to make this vision come alive!

Mom painted two walls a mustard yellow color in no time flat! I must tell you she has been painting walls in my house since I have moved in!

My dad, being the artist that he is, drew a huge tree by hand and then started the careful and time consuming painting process. I think he left with a stiff neck! Oh but what a wonderful job he did!!!

adding a double coat!

We then cut leaves out of cute paper and stuck them on the wall. This is the finished tree! Yeehaww! I am so excited. I really didn't think this all would get done before the baby came!
Curtains were hung, kids were playing, things were being put into place, all we need is this little baby!!!Wyatt's crib that papa made for him was brought out and put together by papa himself. Oh what a beauty! This crib was the final touch in making this babies room exactly what I had wanted it to be! Thank you so much mom and dad for all your time and hard work! This room was definitely made with love!

On the other side of the wall was a different story!

Cory let the boys be his little helpers and paint Wyatt's side of the wall. He is much braver than I am but that makes him the special daddy and uncle that he is. Needless to say they were covered in paint, had had a bath, and were running around naked when I got back from the store. I think it made their day!
So I guess I am just waiting for a contraction to kick in and let me know it is time to go!!!!!
