Nighty Night

For a long while we have been a co-sleeping family :) Something I never thought would happen when Wyatt was born. He started out in his own bassinet but then as he grew older he got sick and slept in our bed and it continued on. So, now that he is becoming such a big boy :) he is transitioning into his own bed and going to bed on his own! Of course there are a few songs sung by mommy and a few super hero stories told by daddy but he then goes off to sleep by himself (well, with few super heroes to keep him safe.) I am so proud of him! I was dreading this transition because I knew my little boy would cry out for his mommy from his bedroom and knew it would break my heart! Only a few nights of that and he did just fine! It has been so nice to have some quiet time with just Cory and I at night!
We must not forget the super heroes!!!
Wait mommy, the super heroes need a blankie on too!
He is such a little sweetie! He has the same order of songs that he wants to sing. First ABC's then Old Mcdonald, then Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. He has so many little treasures that he loves! We have this little box that all his little treasures go into and he calls it the magic box. :) I will tell him goodnight and tell him that he has the glowing stars on the ceiling and the night light in his room and that mommy and daddy are right out in the living room if he needs anything. He then tells me he needs something! Of course it is something in the magic box that needs to go to bed with him!

So my boys are growing every day and I am able to see the changes in Clay with each day but I suddenly look at Wyatt and see this young boy! What is going on???? He is going to be turning three soon and knows exactly how many fingers that is! Three is still just a little boy so why does he seem so much bigger? These two boys bring a smile to my face everyday! Of course some frowns come with the smiles along with exhaustion and lost patience but hey that is what keeps life exciting right! :)
I really enjoy listening to Wyatt and what goes on in his little head. He is a lover of music and has so many favorite songs that come on the radio that he can't help but bounce around in his car seat and sing along. You can just see the big smile on his face as I turn the music up! I love that he has so much love to give all the people that surround him. He is such a good sharer and is so thoughtful towards his brother, cousins and friends. He holds a special place in his heart when he gets to spend time with his cousins and clings to peaces of those times as his favorite things. This little boy is one special soul!

Wyatt hurt himself and I told him that he needed to be careful with my boy. His reply was " no mommy, I am Grandma's boy I just live at our house." Well alrighty then! :)

I told him it was nap time and as we lay down to read a book or sing a song he asked me "mommy, can you tell me about Jesus and his friends?" Well alrighty then! :)

He picked out some Toy Story undies because I want to really start working with him at potty training. He found a horse that he fell in love with at the store. I told him he could get it if he went potty in the toilet all day today and wore his undies all day today. His reply " noooo" I told him that I really thought he could do it. His reply " I know I can mommy, I just don't want to!" Alrighty then!!! :)

Wyatt wanted to have some cereal and I came over to him but forgot to bring the cereal.
Wyatt: "mommy is my cereal cooking?"
Me: "Oh yeah buddy let me get it."
Wyatt: "It is not hot mommy."
Me: "no it is not hot buddy."
Wyatt "Then why did you cook it?"

Clay decided he is ready to start rolling over! Last Wednesday he was having tummy time and rolled over to his back three times! Slow down little Clay! :)

My little super hero

You KNOW it's going to be a good day when the morning starts off with THIS!
I hear loud crying from the living room which never is a good thing when you have a little boy that really doesn't cry when he gets hurt. I ask him what happened and he tried to reenact the scene for me as he flies in the air like a super hero. Apparently his cape wasn't working to good this morning because he missed his mark and landed on the ground hitting his head on the rocking chair foot lever.

Three months old

Our little Clay boy! You are growing so fast we can barely keep up with you! You love your bath times. You love to lay in the warm water kicking your legs really fast and splashing mommy or daddy. You are starting to really like your little play mat. You love watching the toys swaying when you kick your legs and you are scooting all over the place on your back! I put you on your mat and pretty soon I look over and you have scooted yourself off with all the excitement! You make all kinds of noise while you are awake and I love to listen to what you have to say! You have not been feeling very well lately. You cry a lot especially when mommy tries to feed you. I decided to take you to the dr. to see what was going on with my little smiley boy and come to find out you have a soar throat. So all we can do is give you a dose of Tylenol and hope it goes away real fast. Mommy is pretty exhausted! :) You weigh 16lbs and 10 oz now! You better slow down a little so I can keep carrying you without breaking my back! :) You are still eating every three to four hours and are being swaddled to go to bed. Sometimes I will leave one arm out because I think you like it. You have been sleeping in your crib for naps during the day and just in the last few days you have been sleeping in your crib at night also. The swing just wasn't swinging much anymore! You would kick your legs around and the swing would slow down and then stop. I would come out and find you just hanging out in your swing at a dead stop sucking on your fist. :) We love you little boy and LOVE watching you change.
